Staff throws hot tea on student

A Class IV student was injured when hot tea fell on him following a tussle with a school staff who in turn thrashed him. The incident took place at a government-aided school, Sarada Prasad Institute, at Bidhannagar Road in Ultadanga on Monday morning.

2 killed, 1 injured as car falls into roadside canal

Doc, staff beaten up by patient’s kin

A doctor and three staff of a hospital in Burdwan were beaten up by angry relatives of a patient and others alleging of medical negligence. A mob went on the rampage after the death of Abhijit Mondal in Kalna sub-divisional hospital on Saturday morning. They assaulted orthopaedic surgeon Dr Arup Das who fell down after being punched. Three other employees of the hospital were also beaten.
