Polling for the sixth and final phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections ended peacefully today with a 83.48 per cent voter turnout in 14 Maoist-hit constituencies spread over three districts.

Trinamul Congress general secretary Mukul Roy on Monday lodged a complaint with the Election Commission, demanding removal of officers-in-charge of three police stations in Jangalmahal because of their partisan behaviour. In the last phase of the six-phased Assembly elections in West Bengal, 14 constituencies in the Maoist-infested areas in West Midnapore, Purulia and Bankura will go to polls on Tuesday under unprecedented security arrangements.
