Government may come up with the name of the special public prosecutor to represent the CBI in the 2G spectrum allocation scam on Friday, a top agency official said on Thursday.

The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Central government to issue a notification for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the death of Sadiq Batcha — an associate of former communications minister A. Raja and an alleged accomplice in the 2G spectrum scam.

All the four accused in the 2G spectrum scam, including former telecom minister A. Raja, will now avail video conferencing facility to appear before a Delhi court to participate in its proceedings.

Congress spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan, a member of the JPC which will probe the 2G spectrum scam, is likely to be nominated by the party to the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament.

The managing director of Kalaignar TV Sharad Kumar was on Monday questioned by the CBI here on Monday in connection with the 2G spectrum allocation scam.

CBI is expected to call DMK MP and Tamil Nadu chief minister M. Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi for questioning in connection with the 2G spectrum scam.
