CPI-M begins introspection on poll debacle

The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) on Friday began a three-day exercise to introspect on the reasons for its defeat in the West Bengal and Kerala Assembly polls.

More than 78 % polling in Puducherry

More than 78 per cent of voters exercised their franchise by 4 00 p.m. on Wednesday in the Puducherry Assembly polls, officials here said. “At 4 00 p.M. 78.86 per cent votes were cast with Yanam region touching a figure of 92 per cent,” an election official told IANS.

Polling ends peacefully in Kerala, over 73% turnout
