The Supreme Court on Monday directed the government to appoint senior advocate U.U. Lalit as special public prosecutor for the trial of 2G spectrum case involving former telecom minister A. Raja and others.

Government may come up with the name of the special public prosecutor to represent the CBI in the 2G spectrum allocation scam on Friday, a top agency official said on Thursday.
