185 passengers protest on board Singapore flight
About 185 passengers staged a sit-in protest on board a Singapore-bound Air India Express aircraft early on Monday morning after the flight got delayed by an hour due to technical snags and later returned to the city airport barely an hour after it took off.
The aircraft, scheduled to depart for Singapore via Tiruchy at 2 am on Monday, took off at 3 am. It, however, developed further technical problems and returned to Chennai an hour later.
After landing, the passengers were left without food for over two hours inside the aircraft. When one of the passengers, Gaur Mohammed fell sick, passengers began shouting slogans against the airline staff and its poor services. The staff shifted Mohammed to a private hospital inside the airport.
