59,000 students take TANCET

About 59,000 students on Saturday took the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) for admission to post-graduate courses in engineering colleges across the state and many candidates felt that the mathematics paper was lengthy and tough.

Janani Ramaswamy, an aspirant for an MBA course in an engineering college who wrote TANCET on Saturday, said that the paper was lengthy and a bit tough as it involved a lot of calculation.

“The paper overall was not so tough except maths. I think I should clear the paper with good scores but I am apprehensive about negative marks for wrong answers,” she said.

Raghavendra Rao, another student echoed Janani’s view and said that the question paper for MBA had some twists in it. “You need to think a lot to answer the questions as they tested student’s analytical skills,” he said.

The examination took place in 98 centres across the state. Those aspiring to take up M.E, M.Tech, M.Arch and M.Plan would take the examination on Sunday.
