CMDA meet to discuss status of Rs 1,000cr works
A CMDA meeting next Monday will give final shape for over Rs 1,000 crore worth projects which would be forwarded to the government for final approval.
The proposals include the Rs 420 crore multi-storied parking complex and the much delayed foodgrain complex.
“The decisive meeting to be chaired by the minister for housing and urban development, who is also chairman of CMDA, will be attended by secretaries of various departments including finance, urban development and industries besides corporation commissioner of Chennai.
The meeting will give the nod for various projects of CMDA announced during the ongoing budget session, before forwarding its suggestions to the government,” sources in CMDA told DC on Monday.
As per the announcements, CMDA would implement various schemes including new basement parking to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 20 crore at Koyambedu bus terminus, and a basement parking for vehicles near the omni bus terminus at Koyambedu at Rs 420 crore, besides Rs 600 crore foodgrain complex.
Though the government had already made announcements in the Assembly, the meeting will update the government on modifications made to the projects – change in design, and changes in cost estimates – to obtain the administrative sanction for the schemes.
