Doctors grilled in murder case
Crime Branch-CID (CB-CID) sleuths on Monday quizzed doctors working at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan medical college hospital near Perambalur as part of their investigation into the rape and murder of a Kerala girl who worked as a domestic help at the house of former DMK MLA Rajkumar.
The CB-CID team led by inspector Umapathi visited the Siruvachur-based hospital and quizzed the doctors for more than seven hours. The interrogation began at 10 am and lasted till evening.
Sources said that sleuths visited the house of former MLA Rajkumar and grilled his family members. Dr Venkatesan of SKS hospital in Venkatesapuram was also questioned.
The investigation is expected to lead to more arrests as doctors working in these two private hospitals had allegedly helped the perpetrators of the brutal murder in suppressing the truth and destroying evidences.
Former MLA Rajkumar and his six associates have so far been arrested in connection with the rape and murder of the Kerala girl.
