Finance firm owner hacked to death
A finance firm owner was hacked to death in his office in Avadi on Wednesday morning over a love triangle.
The deceased was identified as Vijay Kumar (37), a resident of Gandhi Street in Kanyakapuram, Avadi. Sources said that the murder was the result of his tussle with another man over a woman who was employed in his office. Two people have been arrested in the case.
Police said that at 11.30 am, two men came to his office at Nehru Bazaar and after talking to Kumar for a while, they attacked him with sickles.
He suffered injuries on his head and hands. The two later escaped. “Vijay Kumar died on the spot. His body was shifted to Kilpauk Medical College for post-mortem,” the police said.
The police later arrested one Mr Lingeswaran (25) from Pattabhiram and his friend for the murder.
Vijay Kumar, a bachelor was reportedly having an affair with a woman employee of his who had been deserted by her husband. Mr Lingeswaran was also in love with the same woman.
On Wednesday morning, Mr Lingeswaran and his friend came to meet Vijay Kumar for a “patch up talk” which snowballed into the murder. “Both were not ready to leave the woman as she was friendly with both. Lingeswaran sensed that the talks were not reaching anywhere and decided to eliminate his rival. We came to know about the killers after making enquires among firm’s employees,” the police said.
