iPad app to help TN students

Instead of carrying textbooks, students can now use iPads and gain exposure to a different learning experience, thanks to Vishwak Solutions, Chennai.

The company has developed a free app Tamilnadu Tx for iPad to help students read subjects that are available online from the Tamil Nadu Text Book Corporation from Class 1 to Plus Two.

“Subjects are already available online and we’ve developed them as an application for iPad. Students can download as pdf files and save them and study at any time according to their convenience,” said G. Venkata Subramanian, delivery head, Vishwak Solutions.

The company that has been developing applications decided to do something for school students.
“When our staff members were discussing about apps, we thought this application would be useful for students and they can have a rich learning experience. Parents have iPads and students can make use of the gadget as there is already a lot of educational stuff on iPad,” said Subramanian.

The subjects could be read online using Wi-Fi or GPRS Internet connection. “As the syllabus is digitalised, students can learn them easily. Students can also download a specific standard subjects,” said Subramanian.

“We plan to enhance the application with features like book marking and notes taking,” Subramanian said. The app can be downloaded for free from here
