Iskcon temple opens today

The aesthetically constructed ISKCON temple on ECR is all set for inauguration on Thursday.

“The Sri Sri Radhakrishna temple is a new symbol of rich Indian culture designed with architectural excellence,” said Sumithra Krishna Das, temple president.

The ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness), Chennai, will inaugurate the centre for spiritual art and culture, which also includes the temple for Lord Krishna at Akkarai, Sholinganallur.

“The temple has been built with the kind support of about 8,000 life patrons and contributions from well wishers,” Sumithra Krishna Das said.

The prana pratishtha (deity installation) ceremony will be conducted at 8.30 am, while and the Kumbhabhishekam will be performed at 10.30 am.

In the evening, Bhanu Swami will make a presentation of the temple concept and there would be speeches by sanyasis.

The Shayana arati at the temple will be held at 8 pm.

The entire temple will be illuminated in the evening.
