Jaya nod for creation of two new taluks
Chief minister J. Jayalalithaa on Monday announced the creation of Kalasapakkam and Madathukulam taluks in Tiruvannamalai and Tirupur districts.
According to an official release here, in a bid to give a fillip to development works being carried out by the revenue department, the government led by Jayalalithaa has been taking several steps to create new taluks based on the density of the population and needs of the people.
In this pursuit, the chief minister has ordered the creation of Kalasapakkam taluk in Tiruvannamalai comprising Kalasapakkam, Kadaladi and Kettavarampalayam blocks.
In this newly-created taluk, 23 existing vacancies would be re-organised besides 19 new posts would be created. This will entail the government an expenditure of Rs1.35 crore. Further, an additional sum of Rs2.41 crore would be spent on providing infrastructure at the tahsildar’s office.
In Tirupur, the Madathukulam taluk would be created with Thoongavi and Madathukulam for the convenience of the public. Four posts would be created in this new taluk that includes revenue inspector and surveyor.
The release further said that due to space constraints at the revenue divisional office and tahsildar office, functioning from the same premises, the chief minister has ordered the construction of a new office for the Udumalaipet RDO at the cost of Rs1.85 crore. The land for the new building has already been identified.
