The CM also ordered creation of a total of 1,590 P.G. teacher posts last year to strengthen the school education system.
Sensing the fact that mere upgrading of schools and providing various sops to students would not give them a quality education, Jayalalithaa was determined to create adequate number of PG teachers to offer quality education in the newly upgraded schools, an official release said here.
Besides, the CM has allocated Rs 152 crore to create infrastructure facilities including drinking water, toilets, lab facilities, and additional classrooms in 131 higher secondary schools in order to help provide a healthy school environment.
