‘Kidnapped’ teen handed over to father
The Madras high court has handed over to a man the custody of his 17-year-old son who was allegedly kidnapped by a woman teacher.
Initially, by an order of the judicial magistrate, detenu S. Gajindra, who is doing plus one in a private school in the city, was kept in the home as he did not express willingness to go along with his father, Saravan Kumar.
However, when the detenu was produced before the court, he categorically expressed willingness to go along with his father, the petitioner, who was also present before the court.
“As the detenu is a minor, his custody is handed over to the natural guardian, petitioner/father. As nothing survives in the petition, the HCP stands closed,” said a division bench of Justices K. Mohan Ram and G.M. Akbar Ali.
According to petitioner, the science teacher in the school was regularly disturbing his son and was sending obscene messages. On March 4, his son went to school but did not return. After searching for him everywhere, he came to know that the science teacher kidnapped his son.
