Need to grill top cop for leads in Pazee scam: CBI
The CBI on Wednesday informed the Madras high court that senior IPS officer and IG Pramod Kumar was the beneficiary of Rs 2.85 crore, extorted from the directors of M/s Paazee company and therefore the custodial interrogation of Pramod Kumar is essential to unearth his complicity and others in the extortion.
Stating this in his counter, special public prosecutor for CBI N. Chandrasekharan sought dismissal of the anticipatory bail petition filed by Pramod Kumar.
Apprehending arrest in connection with the Paazee Scam case, Pramod Kumar filed the present petition for anticipatory bail.
Mr Chandrasekharan said the extorted money has to be recovered, so that the fruits of the ill-gotten money would not be enjoyed by the petitioner/accused, which was obtained at the cost of the hard earned money of the depositors
Justice M M Sundresh posted to April 2, further hearing of the case.
