Rs 35cr for officials’ training institute
The civil services training institute at Bhavanisagar, which hones the managerial capabilities of government employees, will be upgraded at the cost of Rs 35 crore, chief minister J. Jayalalithaa announced on Monday.
Making a suo motu statement in the Assembly, the chief minister said the institute would be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.
Noting that the training institute played a prominent part in upgrading the managerial capabilities of government employees and in improving their knowledge, Ms Jayalalithaa said the Bhavanisagar Institute trained ministerial staff, including junior assistants and assistants and assistant village administrative officers (VAOs).
“However, facilities such as the auditorium, classrooms, canteen, library halls and boarding halls are in bad shape and they urgently require repair,” she said.
The state government has decided to upgrade the institute by providing all facilities including classrooms, playgrounds, dispensary, auditorium, record rooms, separate rooms for teachers at the cost of `35 crore, she said.
