Students breathe easy as textbook distribution begins

Textbooks for class 10 students were distributed only in August in 2011 making ti difficult for teachers to complete the syllabus and students to revise.

However, this time the Tamil Nadu Textbook Corporation has started distribution of textbooks from Thursday itself and students will receive the books once the Class IX examination results are announced.

“Last time there was a delay because of issues relating to the Samacheer Kalvi syllabus, but this time we were asked to receive books well in advance.

This will definitely help our students to revise well,” said K. Vinod Raja, principal of the Raja National Matriculation Higher Secondary School.

“School reopens on June 1 and we will have ample time to prepare. We also have model question papers for reference,” said R. Balaji, a student.

“Last year we were not familiar with the syllabus but now we know the question pattern and will prepare students accordingly,” said a government school teacher.
