TNPSC readies foolproof system
Following the recent Group–II paper leak racket, the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has decided to evolve a foolproof system that will eliminate such incidents in the future.
“Due to the negative attitude of some lone wolves in the network, who want to make some quick buck, the entire commission is facing a crisis now.
We are planning to have a system which ensures there is minimum human involvement to avoid such rackets,” said R. Nataraj, chairman, TNPSC.
The commission recently cancelled its Group-II examination following reports that the question paper was leaked a few days prior to the examination.
Touts who wanted to make some fast money allegedly sold questions papers for Rs 3 to Rs 5 lakh.
The police has arrested nine persons including kingpin Balan in connection with the case and a special team has rushed to Uttar Pradesh to nab one of the accused.
Meanwhile, lakhs of candidates who worked hard to prepare for the Group-II examination are highly disappointed and shocked with the untoward turn of events and are still waiting for the commission to announce the new date for the re-examination.
“We are conducting meetings with the authorities concerned to decide the re-examination dates and it will be announced at the earliest. Arrangements are also being made for it,” said Mr Nataraj.
