Truck-bus collision kills three

Three persons were killed and 10 injured in a freak mishap when a truck lost control and smashed against a bus coming from opposite side on Chennai–Walajah Road near Oragadam on Monday afternoon. All the three killed in the mishap were travelling in the truck.

The deceased were identified as Devan of Thenkasi, Ganesh, 28, and Manikandan, 22. According to police, the truck with load of articles to be delivered was on its way to a car accessories manufacturing unit in Walajah when the accident occurred at Panapakkam.

Devan was driving the vehicle, police officers said. The truck lost control, jumped median and crashed against a private bus carrying employees from a private company.

All the injured were employees of the company. The injured were admitted to a hospital after the accident that occurred around 3.30 pm.
