Sharma in sole lead after Rd 1

Himanshu Sharma

International Master Himanshu Sharma of Haryana took the sole lead with six points, following his win over Kantilal Dave of Rajasthan in the first Gurgaon all India Open fide rating chess championship at the Rishi Public School Sector 31 in Gurgaon on Sunday.

Sharma was closely followed by Puneet Jaiswal of Delhi on 5.5 points. International Master Argyadip Dass of West Bengal, Delhi’s Prince Bajaj and Yogesh Gautam of Haryana were also in the race for the top position with 5 points each. A total of 103 players are participating in the championship.
