‘Wife doesn’t allow us to meet George’
New Delhi, Jan. 25: Brothers of senior JD(U) leader George Fernandes alleged that the wife and son of the socialist leader are preventing them from meeting those people whom he trusted the most.

In a statement issued on Monday, George’s brothers -— Micheal, Paul, Aloysius and Richard — dismissed the allegations that they were in a battle for the socialist leader’s assets. There are certain people who used to visit George’s house every morning and evening which was a very stabilising factor in his life, said the brothers, adding that now George has been deprived of meeting those people by his wife and son.
The socialist leader had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease three years back and was undergoing treatment in consultation with doctors in India and Canada. The brothers said 79-year-old Fernandes has now been completely isolated in an ashram in Hardwar.
He must also be feeling abandoned by his brothers and his many friends who used to visit him frequently.
