2 outfits lay claim to Pune blast

PUNE, Feb. 24: The investigations into the Pune blast took a sensational twist after the office of the police commissioner received two letters by post on Wednesday in which two as-yet-unheard-of outfits — Simi International and Mujahideen Islami Muslim Front

— claimed that they had carried out the German Bakery blasts. In a tone that was rather bombastic, as a senior officer put it, the outfits said: "This (referring to the Pune blasts) was done as revenge and nobody can catch us." The outfit also wrote that they have a formidable base in Bhiwandi, Thane and Guwahati.
