Beheaded body of cop in Bankura

Bankura/Kolkata , Jan. 27: The beheaded body of a policeman, Sanjay Ghosh, was found near the Kangsabati river on Tuesday night and another missing police personnel, Ajay Pandey, came back to the Barikul police station on Wednesday morning. The two IRB jawans have been missing since the night of January 25, when a police force of 23 personnel went to the Satnala village on an operation. Meanwhile, an exchange of fire continued between the joint forces and the Maoists in Madhupur and Belpahari and one person has been killed till the reports last came in.

On Monday night, the force was attacked by suspected Maoists and 21 jawans managed their way out of it. “Ajay Pandey came back in plain dress and was not wearing his uniform. He might have shed his clothes in an attempt to dodge the Maoists,” said a police source. On Wednesday, a huge police force under SP Vishal Garg entered the nearby forest and recovered the uniform and the SLR belonging to the IRB jawan. Sanjay Ghosh’s family came from Kakrapara of Sreerampore in Howrah to claim his body and a full guard of honour was given to him by the force. “Of the two missing persons, one has come back and the beheaded body of the other has been found. We will question Ajay Pandey once he has calmed down,” SP Vishal Garg said.
Meanwhile, state home secretary Ardhendu Sen said that acting on a tip off, 23 police personnel had gone to the village on Monday night. “However, the villagers attacked them with bows and arrows. Twenty-one police personnel managed to escape and returned. However, two of them went missing, of whom Ajay Pandey returned later and the body of another police official was recovered,” he elaborated. The police has detained 7-8 persons in connection to that incident. Mr Sen also informed that one person has been killed during the exchange of fire between the joint forces and the Maoists in Madhupur and Belpahari. “The body is yet to be identified. The police also arrested 6-7 persons,” he added.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
