BJP call for bandh today on price rise
Nov. 12: Delhi BJP has called a city bandh on Friday to protest against price rise. The traders associated with the BJP will also walk from Red Fort to Town Hall half naked in protest. The city unit of the BJP has requested the traders, industrialists, parents, students, workers and workmen of unorganised sectors to support the bandh.
The Leader of the Opposition in Delhi Assembly V.K. Malhotra, senior leaders Vijay Goel, Madan Lal Khurana and Harsh Vardhan said in a joint press conference that "in order to avoid hardships to the people, already suffering from price rise, the essential services and transport have been kept out of bandh purview".
They strongly criticised the UPA government at the Centre and Delhi government for their gross negligence and failure to curb unprecedented price rise.
"The government is encouraging profiteering and hoarding. The statements of the Union agriculture minister Sharad Pawar are of not accepting responsibility for price rise and actually encouraging it," alleged the BJP leaders.
They said that the Delhi government made a minor reduction in DTC bus fare hike one day and increased Metro fares the next day in a cruel joke on Delhiites.
"Government increased school fees and Metro fares, due to which the people are crying under economic burden," stated the BJP leaders.
