In Firozabad, RLD to campaign for SP

Nov. 1: The Rashtriya Lok Dal, still a member of the NDA, will now campaign for the Samajwadi Party in Firozabad. RLD MP Jayant Choudhury will campaign for SP candidate Dimple Yadav on November 4, turning the Firozabad campaign into a perfect showcase for youth power. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi campaigned for Congress candidate Raj Babbar two days ago while SP MP Akhilesh Yadav has been campaigning for his wife who is the SP candidate here.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi campaigned for Congress candidate Raj Babbar two days ago while SP MP Akhilesh Yadav has been campaigning for his wife who is the SP candidate here.Jayant Choudhury's campaign in Firozabad is aimed at winning over the Jat votes that have a sizeable presence in the constituency. His campaign is also designed to counter the Congress campaign by Haryana chief minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda who will be addressing a series of meetings in favour of Raj Babbar in Ferozabad on Monday.RLD president Ajit Singh, meanwhile, was quoted as having said in an interview to a Hindi daily that though his party was still a part of the NDA, he had decided to campaign for the Samajwadi Party in order to defeat the BSP in Firozabad."The BJP is not in the contest in Firozabad and therefore we are supporting the Samajwadi Party," he was quoted as having said in the interview.According to sources, Samajwadi Party leaders had personally sought Mr Singh's support in Firozabad to ensure the victory of Dimple Yadav.
