Media in CBSE Class 11

Feb. 8: The Central Board of Secondary Education has decided to introduce media and mass communication as a subject in Class 11 from the coming academic session 2010-11. The board proposes to expand it to Class 12 in academic year 2011-12. It has been introduced due to growing interest in journalism among students and an expansion of the media market.

“The CBSE thought of introducing journalism as a subject last year as a considerable number of students are interested in journalism. By this we hope the students will get an idea of what the subject is,” an expert said on condition of anonymity.
