Sania tweets for Shoaib

Hyderabad , April 3: Tennis star Sania Mirza has come out in defence of her husband-to-be, Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, who is facing allegations of dumping a woman he had married. Shoaib was in Hyderabad to meet Sania on Saturday.

“Me and my family know what the truth is, we’ve known it all along and we have confidence in God’s justice,” Sania said in her Twitter feed. Though she did not mention Shoaib by name, it is evident that it was the controversy relating to him that she had in mind.

Ayesha Siddiqui’s family has accused the cricketer of conducting a telephonic nikah with her and later abandoning her.
Referring obliquely to all the controversies, Sania also tweets, “Too much going on, never in my life thought that I’d had to worry bout anything of this sort, rather than my mehendi.”
Sania has been taking flak from the Shiv Sena for her decision to marry a Pakistani. “Leaves me with no choice but to laugh,” she said in her message. “I am pretty sure these are not the pre-wedding jitters or butterflies in the stomach my married cousins were talking about!” Shoaib’s family has reportedly been interacting with Delhi-based criminal lawyer Ramesh Gupta, who has been representing them in the legal battle with Ayesha’s family.
Shoaib has denied the allegations and said it was he who was cheated since he was shown the photograph of another girl, and not Ayesha, and that he backed out of the marriage after he realised that he had been taken for a ride.

Washington, April 3: An American woman has been charged with plotting to attend a terror camp in Europe with another US woman known as “JihadJane” after returning and surrendering to US authorities.
Jamie Paulin-Ramirez, 31, a blonde nursing student from Leadville, Colorado, had been reportedly arrested in Ireland in March on suspicions she planned to kill a Swedish cartoonist who made a drawing of Prophet Mohammed that outraged many Muslims.
Paulin-Ramirez was later freed without charge. She then returned voluntarily to the US and was arrested in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Friday, the justice department said without detailing the reason for her return. She was charged with “material support to terrorists”. —AFP
