Soha’s got a new best friend

Soha Ali Khan and Konkona Sen Sharma are the new best friends in Bollywood. Both the Bong girls are often spotted doing coffee, clubbing and shopping together. Wonder what their respective boyfriends think of that. But their bonding and easy chemistry, rarely

seen between two actresses, seems to be catching the eye of directors, Sudhir Mishra in particular, who is set to cast them in their next film according to sources. Mishra has already worked with Soha in Khoya Khoya Chand and Tera Kya Hoga Johnny, which is yet to release. But since then, he’s probably realised that he can make movies without his muse Chitrangada and has been praising Soha to the skies. But Chitrangada is back making movies now, so does that mean she is out of favour with her favourite director? Not a chance, apparently she will also be a part of this women-oriented subject starring Soha and Konkona if all goes according to plan. Wonder if he is planning on making Charlie’s Angels.

Abhishek gets his way

Abhishek Bachchan is focussing all his energies on Abhinay Deo’s Crooked and has worked hard on himself for the movie. The film was initially going to star wifey Aishwarya Rai opposite him, but she later walked out due to date hassles.

Abhishek then got all concerned about the script of the movie and had several meetings with the director and producer Ritesh Sidhwani till it was fine- tuned to his liking. Deo who has already directed his debut Delhi Belly for Aamir Khan Productions is being touted as a name to watch out for in the future, and wasn’t willing to take Abhi’s interference lightly.

But after mediation from producer Ritesh, he thawed and gave in to Abhishek’s demands. But probably as revenge, he put forth some demands of his own, and asked Abhi to get into perfect shape and work on some rippling muscles as that was the need for a spy film. And that was all the motivation Abhi needed, as he hit the gym with the gusto and after a lot of hard work, is close to getting that perfect shape, with toned muscles and flat abs.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
