Won’t mind playing Alice: Depp

Los Angeles: He may be playing the Mad Hatter in his latest film Alice in Wonderland but Hollywood heartthrob Johnny Depp would not mind stepping into the shoes of Alice, had his director asked him to do it. The 46-year-old actor that he
would have played any character for a chance to be in the film directed by Tim Burton, Parade magazine reported.
“To be honest, he could have asked me to play Alice and I would have said yes. I would have done whatever character he wanted. The fact that it was the Mad Hatter was a bonus because it was a great challenge,” Depp said.
The 3-D venture, which also stars Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway and Mia Wasikowska, marks the actor’s seventh outing with Burton. “There is some kind of connection, some sort of understanding that Tim and I have that is at most times unspoken. I do feel a certain amount of pressure like, ‘Will this be the film where I disappoint him?’ I try really hard just to come up with something that’s very different and we haven’t experienced together before,” he said.     —PTI
