‘Love comes with an expiry date’
Neha Dhupia is feeling hot and she is more than happy to admit it. The last time she was seen in a sexy avatar was in De Dana Dan (2009) where she had played a call girl. And after middle-of-the-road films like Pappu Can’t Dance Saala, Phas Gaye Re Obama, Gandhi To Hitler and Maximum, Neha is back where she belongs — looking hot and chic — in Rush.
Six years after Bipasha Basu’s balanced act in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Corporate, a leading lady is being shown in a corporate set-up with an added dose of being a seductress. “Throughout the shooting of the film I was just thinking ‘hot’. When you start thinking that way, you look hot as well,” smiles the actor, “After all these years of being told that I am sexy and me not quite believing it, today after looking at myself I too feel that it is indeed true. It is one thing to expose and look hot and another to be fully clothed and still do a bloody good job at it. I am happy to have accomplished that.”
Neha is also happy that her co-star in the film is Emraan Hashmi who has seen a rapid rise to stardom in the last couple of years. With a loyal fan following and a series of hits under his belt, Emraan is not just ensuring success for himself but also for his co-stars.
“And how can one ignore that fact?” asks Neha, “Emraan is in the best phase of his career and life. Not that he hasn’t been great in his last so many films but in Rush you see a different Emraan. There are so many actors who are good but don’t find a reach amongst the audience. He has managed to do that.”
The actor also says she is in no hurry to fall in love. “I don’t know if I can say that love has taken a backseat. For me work has always been on the forefront and then comes family. Yes, if I was in a nine-to-five job and had followed a routine then maybe I would have adjusted to what normal people do. However, for me normal is boring. As for love, when it happens, it will happen. In any case, it isn’t as if love hasn’t happened to me. It has happened and then un-happened and that too twice over. Also, without being too dramatic about it, I have actually enjoyed the process and overcome heartbreaks and heartburns. Come on, it’s very normal. Whether it is your career, a packet of biscuits or love life, everything comes with an expiry date. One cannot get too attached to any of that.”
Guess Neha’s book of quotable quotes still has some ammunition left!
