‘Slapgate’ thing of past for Sreesanth, Bhajji
Mumbai, Oct. 25: Harbhajan Singh and Shanthakumaran Sreesanth are better known for their ‘slapgate’ incident in the Indian Premier League two years ago but the duo on Monday said it was a thing of the past for them now.
Harbhajan had slapped Sreesanth after the match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab at Mohali in 2008, which led to the former being banned for 11 matches in the Twenty20 tournament.
But the pair, who were in the city for a promotional event, said that they had moved on in their careers and there was no ill feeling between them.
“I don’t know whether this is a marketing gimmick or not. Jhagda purana ho gaya. Between the two of us, we had a spat but we sorted out the issue on the same night. It’s not that we have been avoiding each other,” Harbhajan said.
Sreesanth echoed the spinner’s words, saying: “If you want to fight with us, fight us on futurebazaar.com for cheap laptops.”
Both the cricketers congratulated the medal winners of the recently concluded Commonwealth Games held in New Delhi and wished the athletes luck for next month’s Asian Games in Guangzhou, China.
