12 Indians for Sri Lankan Premier League: report
Twelve Indian players have signed up for the inaugural Sri Lankan Premier League (SLPL), beginning on July 19, according to a report in the media.
Munaf Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Praveen Kumar and Vinay Kumar, who are in the national squad for the ODIs and Twenty20 in West Indies, are among those who have signed up for the SLPL.
The other players are Dinesh Karthik, Irfan Pathan, Manish Pandey, Manoj Tiwary, Paul Valthaty, Ravindra Jadeja, Saurabh Tiwary, Umesh Yadav, a report in Islandcricket.com said.
India's tour to England will begin July 15.
The likes of Australians David Warner and Shaun Tait and West Indies' Chris Gayle and Kieron Pollard will also be seen in action.
Shahid Afridi, who will be captaining a team in the tournament, along with Shoaib Akhtar, Sohail Tanvir and Umar Akmal will be among some of the Pakistani talent on show.
South Africa's dashing Herschelle Gibbs and veteran Makhaya Ntini are amongst the other big names on show.
The SLPL will be played from July 19-Aug 4 at the R. Premadasa Stadium here.
Basnahira Western Province Bears, Kandurata Hill Country Kites, Nagenahira East Nagas, Ruhunu South Rhinos, Uthuru North Oryxes, Uva South Western Unicorns and Wayamba North Western Wolves are the franchises in the tournament.
