Abhishek stars for Indus

Jan. 5: Abhinav smashed a belligerent 113 off 69 balls, including 20 fours and three sixes to help Indus World School put up a massive 262 for 5 on the board against K.V. (C.R.P.F.) during the cricket competition of the on-going inter-school DC Sports Meet. Abhishek was ably assisted by Rushil (55). In reply, K.V. slumped to 90 all out, handing Indus a spectacular 172-run victory on their home ground.
In another one-sided clash, St Anthony’s High Schoool set St Joseph’s (Malakpet) a steep target of 178 in 20 overs at Boys Town. Veeraj was unfortunate to miss out on a well deserved ton, but his 94 not out proved to be invaluable for his side as they crushed St Joseph’s by 84 runs.
Meanwhile, Arif ensued that it was yet another lopsided match when Genius High School locked horns with Farha School at Mahesh Vidya Bhavan. Arif, who scored a smashing 111, helped Genius notch up 276 for 5 in their 20 overs. Farha, in reply, fell like a house of cards for a pitiful 61 all out.
Sister Nivedita tried to make a fight out of it, chasing 230 set by Satya Sai Vidya, but were restricted to just 168. Satya Sai, who batted first, rode on Gowtham’s 89 to score 229 for 5.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
