Ali Sagar smashed a ton and rescued South Zone from a collapse in the under-22 inter-zonal cricket match against KCA XI at Perinthalmanna in Malappuram on Monday.
Riding on Sagar’s 110, South Zone were able to score 223 in the first innings. For KCA, Akshay Balal shone with a five-wicket haul while Sachin Mohan scalped four wickets for 47 runs.
In reply, KCA XI scored 129 runs at the expense of three wickets at stumps.
In another inter-zone match held at Palakkad, North Zone were bowled out for 217 by Central Zone in the first innings. Sadam Das (4/71) and M.S Akhil (2/39) shone for Central Zone with ball. In reply, Central Zone lost four wickets while scoring 121 runs at the stumps.
