A and c division results

Lethal bowling by Himler (5\25) helped Malabar Christian College (MCC) to clinch a four-wicket victory over Zamorin’s Guruvayurapan College (ZGC) in a Kozhikode A-division cricket match played at NIT Ground on Sunday.

Batting first, ZGC were bowled out for a score of 129 runs in 31 overs, courtesy Himler’s five-wicket haul. Chasing the target, MCC achieved it in 29 overs with four wickets in hand. Labeesh scored 39 runs to guide MCC to victory.

In another match, St Joseph’s College, Devagiri, registered a comfortable 84-run win over Sree Narayana Smaraka Arts and Sports Club, Kozhikode (SNSS). Devagiri set a target of healthy target of 213 runs at the cost of nine wickets while batting first. For the College team, Tony scored 49 runs.

Chasing the target was not an easy affair for SNSS batsmen as Vaisakh of Devagiri wrecked a havoc on them with his bowling performance (5\21). Only Sajan, with his unbeaten 32 runs, showed some resistance to the fierce bowling of Devagiri.

In the third match in A-division, Eldorado defeated Ralwiew by seven wickets. Riding on the 46-run knock by Suresh, Railview set a target of 173 runs in the stipulated 40 overs. However, Baveesh struck an unassailable 82 runs in reply to guide Eldorado to victory.

In the C-Division match, Asmal’s four-wicket haul guided Yuvabhavana to a five-wicket win. Batting first, Kent CC set a target of 126 runs in the stipulated 25 overs.

Asmal did most of the damage to the Kent innings as he took four wickets for 15 runs. In reply, Yuvabhavana achieved the target with ease in 22 overs and five wickets in hand. Habeeb shone with bat for Yuvabhavana as he knocked an unbeaten 33runs.
