Australia A lose 3 early wickets vs South Africa
Dale Steyn bowled Australia A opener Liam Davis for 10 runs as South Africa held the hosts to 90-3 at lunch on the first day of a three-day tour match.
Rory Kleinveldt also had former test opener Phil Hughes out for 5 as the Proteas began their only match in preparation for a three-test series against Australia that starts Nov. 9 against Australia at Brisbane's Gabba ground.
Allrounder Steve Smith (28 not out) and opener Rob Quiney (42 not out) resumed after lunch for Australia A, which won the toss and elected to bat.
Jacques Kallis, recovering from a chest infection, and Morne Morkel are being rested from an otherwise full-strength South African team.
