Benjamin’s ton in vain as City falter

Bengaluru, Jan. 28: Benjamin Thomas’ 100 went in vain as Hyderabad went down to Karnataka by 55 runs in the final league clash of the P.S. Rammohan Rao Trophy U-25 cricket event on Friday.

Batting first, Karnataka made 270/6 in 50 overs with Sunil Raju top-scoring with 104. In reply, Hyderabad were bowled for 215 with Benjamin leading the way.

With this win, Karnataka topped the table with 23 points. Hyderabad was third with 13 points behind Kerala (17).

Brief scores: Karnataka 270/6 in 50 overs (Sunil N. Raju 104) bt Hyderabad 215 all out in 48.1 overs (Benjamin 100).
