Mahendra Singh Dhoni over the years have displayed such knocks that these days his sheer presence in the middle is more than intimidating for the oppositions, let alone when he gets going in a T20 match as he did against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday in his home territory.
Dhoni has this uncanny knack of reading situations and knows exactly when to up the ante in a match which he does it with utmost ease and has made the T20 format much of his own. When Dhoni hits it, it stays hit and can change the complexion of the match within a blink of an eye.
Here is a look at some of the best T20 knocks played by the Indian skipper:
Chennai Super Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderbad in CLT20
The stage was set for Dhoni as Raina and co had given a good start to the team and all Dhoni had to do was to see off a couple of balls before unleashing himself at the oppossition. He did not miss out on the opportunity as he reduced the Sunrisers attack to a mere club level attack and started dealing in boundaries as if he was playing in his backyard. His 66 runs off just 19 balls took the match away from Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Chennai Super Kings vs Pune Warriors in IPL 2013
Mahendra Singh Dhoni was in his elements right from the word go as he kicked off his innings with a four and a six of the first two balls he faced in the innings. There was no looking back from there on as he made Ashok Dinda look like a kindergarten bowler by taking 25 runs of his next over. The 45 runs knock helped the Super Kings  get past Warriors without any hiccups.
Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians in IPL 2012, Eliminator
Chennai Super Kings were in a spot of bother as the skipper came out to bat after his side lost a couple of wickets in quick succesion but as they say when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. Dhoni unleashed himself into the Mumbai attack and started clearing the ground at will . Attack at times is the best form of defence and Dhoni's 51 off 20 balls was good enough to tilt the match in CSK's favour.
Chennai Super Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderbad in IPL 2013
Sunrisers has a history of coming in Dhoni's way as they seemed to have not learnt from their mistakes. Dhoni played the role of a finisher by taking the matter in his own hands as he cruised to 67 runs off 37 balls giving CSK yet another victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
