Big wins for Sonnet, Citizen

Akash Yadav slammed 127 as Sonnet Club hammered OBC by 160 runs in the DDCA hot weather cricket tournament at the RSKP grounds in the capital on Tuesday.

Chasing a mammoth 348, OBC limped to 188/5 in 40 overs, as Sidharth Lohiya picked up 3/28.
Earlier, Sonnet rode on Yadav’s hundred to put a huge total on the board. Besides Yadav, Milind Kumar and Eklavya Dwivedi contributed half centuries.
The day’s third match saw Raghubir Willowers edge past L.B. Shastri Coaching Centre by three wickets at the Kotla grounds.
Chasing 183, man of the match Kulbir Rawat and Kartik Chaudhary scored 51 and 40 not out respectively, as the Willowers overhauled the target in 35.4 overs. Earlier, Gagan Sodhi had picked 3/21 to restrict LB Shastri Club to 182/8.
Later, Ankit Singh helped Citizen Club thrash Indo Club by 135 runs in their encounter at the Guru Gobind Singh College grounds.
Half centuries from Ankit, Rahul Hudda, Dushyant Sharma and Rajat Gupat propelled Citizen Sports Club to a massive 411/6.
Parul Dogra scored 71 for Indo Club, but the team were bowled out for 276.
Hudda (77, 2/41) was named the match of the match for his all-round show.
Essex Farms beat Maulana Azad Academy by nine wickets in the day’s final encounter.
