Bonding with the ‘mates’ important, feels Cameron White
Australian cricketer Cameron White who is in the city practising for the upcoming IPL season feels bonding with the teammates is of utmost importance for a good performance.
“A lot of people are yet to come. We have been bonding well over the first practice sessions recently; we are jelling together which is the key to perform well for the IPL 5. It’s a pretty relaxed atmosphere at Deccan and hopefully, we will play good cricket.”
Sharing his experiences in the city, he says, “We are very busy, so we don’t get much time to travel much but Hyderabad is a great city and I feel it’s cooler than some of the other cities. No friends in the city yet, I don’t hang out much, but Daniel Christian is a good friend in the team. From India Amit Mishra and Chipli are fun guys to hang out with.”
So being a senior player, does he get bothered by junior players for some expert advice a lot? “Ya, a few do. A few of the young players ask for tips, we just had a few practices for now, but working with the youngsters is a part of Deccan Chargers.”
About captaining the team in the absence of Sangakkara, he says, “I captained the last game we played last season and we won and hopefully we will win our next match so that when Sanga is back we will have some wins in hand.
When not on-field, Cameron likes to play Golf and go fishing.
