Chris Gayle crosses 100 sixes in IPL
Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Chris Gayle became the first batsman to hit 100 sixes in Indian Premier League.
The left hand top order batsman from Kingston, achieved this feat by hitting first six off leg spinner Amit Mishra during his 26-run knock against Deccan Chargers at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore on Sunday night (May 6).
The hard hitting West Indian batsman who holds the record of hitting the highest number of sixes in Twenty-20 matches- 253 sixes in 102 matches, batted 37 innings of 38 matches to hit 100 sixes in Indian Premier League.
The 32-year old batsman, hit 26 sixes in 16 innings of as many matches for Kolkata Knight Riders while he smashed 75 sixes in 21 innings of 22 matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
