Consistency will be the key against Australia: Dravid
Senior batsman Rahul Dravid feels a collective and consistent effort will be key to India's good show against formidable Australia in their four-match Test series starting on Boxing day.
"We have to prepare well and start the series well. We will play one Test match at a time and the key will be consistency from a lot of players," Dravid was quoted as saying during ICC Cricket World Radio Show.
"It's not going to be individual performances that will win this series. This series will be won by consistent performances from a lot of players in the team.
"Three or four bowlers need to step up as do three or four batsman and those seven or eight players with consistent performances will help India win this series against Australia," he added.
Dravid also said past reputation won't fetch him bagful of runs against Australia and he has to prepare hard for the series.
"It's nice to be in good form but that doesn't mean you will score runs. I still have to do my preparation, I'll still have to work hard and earn every single run, especially in Australia," said Dravid, the second highest run-scorer in Test cricket behind Sachin Tendulkar.
"Just because, I'm in good form, it gives me confidence but that's about it," he added.
