David Warner set to enter 'Millionaire Cricketers' club
After his blazing 180 against India at Perth on Saturday, David Warner's stakes seemed to have increased as the burly opener may soon join the coveted 'Millionaire Club' along with illustrious seniors like Michael Clarke and Ricky Ponting.
Incidentally, Warner was omitted from CA's 25-man contract list in April because he was deemed a Twenty20 specialist who was unlikely to progress any further.
"Warner earned a base contract of about $160,000 by playing three one-day internationals, four T20s and making his Test debut against New Zealand. But his next base contract is expected to be more than seven times that amount," stated The Telegraph.
"From being rated outside the top 25, he is expected to zoom into the top five players who are guaranteed at least $1.5 million a year when the contracts are reviewed at the end of this season," the paper wrote.
