The Deccan Chargers landed in Bhubaneshwar on Friday afternoon for their match against Kolkata Knight Riders.

The Bulls play their fifth game of the season, and will be keen to turn their fortunes at their ‘home ground’ —Barabati Stadium — in Cuttack on Sunday.

The former champions headed straight from the airport to hotel Mayfair Lagoon where they are put up.

As the Chargers made their way into the hotel, there was a chocolate cake awaiting the birthday boy — Ankit Sharma — who turned 21. Shikhar Dhawan (who arrived with his fiancee Esha Mukherjee) and J.P.

Duminy took it upon themselves to smear the cake on Ankit. The rest of the clan did not want to be left behind and soon joined in the celebrations. There was joy all around as the Bulls brigade wished the birthday boy.

The autograph hunters had a field day too. No prizes for guessing that it was skipper Kumar Sangakkara and Dale Steyn who were the fans’ favourite.

The duo signed autographs and even posed with the fans before retiring to the rooms. The Kolkata Knight Riders arrived in the evening.
