Dew will play role, says Gauti
Jaipur, Nov. 30: India skipper Gautam Gambhir is faced with an unusual dilemma ahead of the second ODI against New Zealand at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium here on Wednesday. A dry track devoid of any grass is tempting Gambhir to go with an additional spinner in the form of Ravindra Jadeja into the match but the atmospheric conditions might scupper that plan.
With temperatures dropping rapidly in the evenings in Jaipur, dew will be a major concern for both teams. Going in with just two medium pacers might be risky for India if the toss doesn’t go their way and they are asked to field second. “Dew will be a major factor in the match. I am sure chemicals will be used to reduce the impact moisture might have on the match,” Gambhir said.
The Delhi opener felt that the track looked quite dry. “Bring in an additional spinner is also an option for us. The track is the same one on which Hyderabad were bowled out for 21 but most of the grass has been shaved off the track,” he added.
