Dhoni: We’d planned for a year and half

M.S. Dhoni revealed Sunday his team had a long-term strategy to win the trophy. “A year and a half ago, we set our eyes on the Cup. Whatever we did, we had a long-term goal,” he said at the post-match press conference.
“We wanted our best players in form, didn’t want to lose (them) to injury. We could give 100 per cent on the field, peaked at the right time and carried the momentum into the final.”
