Emerging players camp begins at NCA
With a long season ahead, young cricketers, bowlers in particular will be looking to hit the high note in terms fitness and injury protection.
With fitness being the key word, 20 emerging bowlers began a two-week camp at the National Cricket Academy, here on Monday.
The bowlers who had attended a skill-based camp at the academy earlier, also includes Jammu and Kashmir off-spinner Parvez Rasool who has been picked in the Indian team for the Zimbabwe tour scheduled later this month.
Emerging bowlers camp: Sandeep Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Suraj Yadav, Ishwar Pandey, Siddarth Kaul, Imtiaz Ahmed, Sandeep Warrier, Ankit Rajput, Rishi Dhawan, Sarabjit Ladda, Shreekant Wagh, Aniket Choudhary, Rakesh Dhurve, Shahbaz Nadeem, Parvez Rasool, Akshay Darekar, Karan Sharma, Jalaj Saxena, Dhawal Kulkarni and Kamlesh Makvana.
Above U-19 camp gets under way
A camp for the above-19 players also began at the same venue on Monday. Former India players Sunil Joshi, Deep Dasgupta and Sanjay Bangar are the coaches for the camp. “This camp is meant for those players, who have just crossed 19 and cannot be part of Under-19 camps as they are also too young for Under-25 camps. The focus will be on skills and fitness,” Joshi said.
