Happenings of Day three:

The events that followed on the third day of the England, India Test match being played in Motera involved some high drama. First, seven of England's wickets in the first innings were taken were taken by tea with R Ashwin and Pragyan Ojha taking eight of the ten wickets in the first innings.

Following on, England came good with the bat. Captain Alastair Cook along with debutant opener Nick Compton notched up 111 runs in partnership for the first wicket. The visitors were behind by 219 runs at the end of day's play. As Day 4 unfolds, it will be interesting to see how both the teams hold fort. Do stay tuned for live updates.
