As the race to get the best line-up heats up amongst IPL franchisees, the Deccan Chargers are sitting pretty as they have nothing short of a dream team. Why? Where else will one find a galaxy of match-winners in the form of Kevin Pietersen, Kumar Sangakkara, JP Duminy, and Cameron White who can give the ball a whack, not to forget Dale Steyn who has the ability to turn a match on its head. Steyn will have the company of Pragyan Ojha, Amit Mishra and many others in the bowling department.

With an array of domestic stars to complete the Chargers’ line-up, fans seem more than eager to watch their stars in action. “Chargers have one of the strongest outfits with the likes of Sangakkara, Steyn and Pietersen. What was impressive was that we went for quality and the right balance. I am very excited to watch Steyn in action as he is one of the best fast bowlers in world cricket today,” says Ranji player Akshath Reddy.

Akshath’s teammate G.H. Vihari feels Pietersen will add a lot of star-power to the Chargers. “KP is a fantastic batsman and can change the game in a matter of a few overs. Also, Chargers have Sangakkara who is a good batsman and a superb wicket-keeper. DC has the right mix and looks like a team that can make an impact in the upcoming IPL season,” Vihari says.

While the IPL season is still a few months away, the IPL-2 champions certainly have the right ammunition to repeat the heroics that saw them win the tournament in South Africa two seasons ago.
